Protecting Tasmania from the Tomato Potato Psyllid shows the chips aren’t down

The much feared Tomato Potato Psyllid first appeared in West Australia several years ago with potential to spread to the east coast.

The psyllid caused massive problems to the New Zealand potato industry destroying crops, and growers there still have to manage the pest.

ABC radio in Australia reports that so far biosecurity officers report no sightings of the pest in Tasmania and are continuing their surveillance of potato crops.
