Mini potato bites dubbed the 'must-have' Aldi buy by Aussies

Of the thousands of products sold in Aldi stores across Australia, customers have dubbed the Maitre D’ Potato Gratin as the ‘must have’ buy of 2020 so far.

Priced at a mere AUS$3.69, the miniature frozen potato bites are ideal for family dinners or lunch treats. Hundreds of happy customers praised the product on Facebook with many describing the item as ‘delicious’ and ‘to die for’.

The tasty potato bake bites use a traditional French method of ‘combining layers of thinly sliced potato, cream and cheese’ that slowly melt into one another, creating an ultimate flavoursome taste.

‘I’ve had a lot of potato bakes at a lot of restaurants and these are better than any five-star restaurant,’ one customer said.

The potato bites are not only affordable but take just 20 minutes to cook in the oven.

‘This is an absolute winner in our household,’ one mum said. ‘Yep they’re a hidden gem. So easy and so yummy!’ another added. A third customer said she puts the small potato creations into a sandwich press to turn them into pancakes.
