Storing a potato crop isn’t a walk in the park and a poor harvest can make it even harder. Growers across Canada have experienced a wide range of harvest conditions over the last few years with the most notable having been the wet, cold conditions in Western Canada which gave growers harvest and storage problems.
Canadian based potato magazine, Spud Smart, will host a webinar on August 27 that will look at how harvest conditions can affect spuds in storage and what you can do about it.
During this webinar, participants will learn how harvest conditions can contribute to diseases in storage; what growers can do when storing potatoes to keep them in the best condition; what diseases potatoes may face in storage; and how to handle potato storage diseases.
Presenters during the webinar will be Ron Howard, Plant pathologist with RJH Ag Research Solutions Ltd, and Steven Johnson, crops specialist and extension professor at the University of Maine.
The webinar will be live on Thursday, 27 Aug 2020, 12:00 PM Central Time (US and Canada). Visit the registration page here for further details (registration button at the bottom of the page).
