Scotts’ Evolution Separator: Series of detailed how-to tutorials published as videos online

Scotts Precision Manufacturing Ltd based near Boston, Lincolnshire in the UK has taken a bold and innovative step by producing a series of tutorial videos to assist operators, owners, sales and service technicians of its Evolution Separator.

The 9 separate videos, which can be found on the Scotts YouTube channel here, explain everything you will ever need to know about this market leading cleaning system. All things including how it works, options, spiral segment technology and most importantly, how to set the machine up for all crop types are covered in minute detail and can easily be watched over time.

Managing Director Derek Scott, who features on the videos comments: “Most manufacturers in our industry are not keen to give too much information away for fear of losing that connection with their customers, but this is not an approach that sits well with us. The most important aspect is that our customers get the very best value from their purchase. We simply cannot be on site all the time to provide first hand training on what is a complicated device.

“We have supported our customers as best we can over the phone with good basic information on our website, but to fully understand the machine and all its adjustability you have see it working and have it explained in real time. The tutorial allows us to show videos of all the different crops and what the cause and effect of adjustments are.  Something not always possible – even when we are on site.

“The feedback we have had from sales and service personnel has been very positive. With over 80% of all sales being destined for export, the need for such a thing was indeed obvious. Learning from our experience we are now moving on to create a further series to cover all our other products including the range of Trinity haulm toppers, Microlift windrowers and Grimme GT170 windrower kits.”

The episode below – Settings for maincrop potatoes – can also be viewed on the Scotts YouTube channel here. Other tutorials and more information can be found on the channel here.
