According to a BBC report of earlier today, fish and chips was served for the first time in Britain at around 1860 as a dish as such. It has since became a British favourite and is today considered by many to be the traditional British dish.
22% of British people are believed to visit a fish and chip chop once a week. Chef Richard Ord says he thinks it is the best dish in the world. “It’s just traditional from years gone by I suppose, really,” says one consumer interviewed by the BBC. “Without fish and chips I don’t think Britain will be the same – it’s just nostalgic,” says Ord.
