Spud Smart magazine in Canada recently hosted its latest Spud Smart Innovation webinar, which was brought to you by the Canadian Potato Council.
Late blight can devastate a potato field. Across Canada though, a group of researchers are working, as part of a national research cluster, to develop a strategy to fight back against this costly potato disease. This webinar explains the work that has been done and what researchers still have to come.
The speaker during this webinar was Dr. Rick Peters. He is a research scientist with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Charlottetown. Rick is the principal investigator of various studies on the biology and management of diseases of potato, carrots and other vegetable crops. He is an active member of the Canadian Phytopathological Society, where he serves as the Atlantic regional representative. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Prince Edward Island and Dalhousie University.
