Lidl Ireland and its supplier, Meade Farm, have introduced an exclusive limited edition range of Irish Gold Potatoes which have hit stores just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, according to a report by Checkout.
Supplied exclusively to Lidl by their long-term supplier, Meade Farm, these premium unique white potatoes were grown by Meath-based Gibbstown Farm and have a distinct taste and traditional heritage, the discounter said.
“At Lidl, we’re constantly working with our network of more than 260 Irish suppliers to bring new and unique products to our shelves,” commented John McDonagh, head of Fruit and Vegetables, Lidl Ireland.
“We’ve been working with Meade Farm since we arrived in Ireland two decades ago and as we continue to grow and expand our range, we’re delighted that Meade has been able to grow with us,” he said.
“We’re really excited to be bringing something new and unique onto the Irish potato market with Lidl who we’ve been working with since they came to Ireland 20 years ago,” said Philip Meade Jr., commercial director of Potatoes at Meade Farm. “I’m confident that the distinct flavour of this potato and its versatility will really win over Lidl customers,” he added.
